How owning a pet improves your life

“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.”

Josh Billings

Anyone who has shared their life with a puppy could list the hundreds of benefits they have brought them: companionship, fun, happiness, exercise and unconditional love.

And they are not the only ones who know it. Over time, scientists have been concerned with proving that these and more benefits are real and that having a puppy changes and improves your life:

REDUCE STRESS 😌

It has been proven that spending even 10 minutes with your tenderloin helps relieve anxiety, lowers blood pressure, lowers heart rate and relaxes tension in the muscles.

ARE GOOD FOR YOUR HEART ❤️

A review of studies published between 1950 and 2019 found that people with a puppy as a pet had a lower risk of dying from something heart-related.

MAKE YOU MOVE 🏃♀️

Research from 2019 found that people with puppies are nearly four times more likely to be physically active on a daily basis than those without.

And they calculated that, on average, they spent up to 300 minutes a week walking with their pet.

MAKE YOU LOOK BETTER 😏

Whether in person or in photos, it has been proven that a person accompanied by a dog is often perceived as more relaxed, happy, friendly and attractive.

AND YES, THEY MAKE US HAPPIER 😄

Simply looking into the eyes of our furry friend raises the levels of oxytocin, known as the “love hormone”.

So, take advantage of the fact that you have a furry friend in your life, look at it, hug it and take lots of pictures and if you don’t have one, what are you waiting for? 🙂
